Position: Network Coordinator
Department: Project Management Department
Duration: Fixed Term (03 months)
Supervisor: Field Coordinator / Project Manager

General Scope of Work:

The Network Coordinator is responsible for campaigning with parents, civil society
leaders, religious scholars and education department officials to improve access to
primary education, ensure children stay in school, and to improve the quality of
education and system in Pakistan.

The Network Coordinator will carry out field related project activities as prescribed in the
Project Implementation Process and Project Implementation Guidelines. He/She will act
as ambassadors for LEAD Pakistan and uphold ethical values prescribed by LEAD and
Donor.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Follow Social Mobilization Guidelines and Strategy
2. Organise events and meetings as prescribed in project work plan.
3. Maintaining good relations with communities, notables and local contact persons
to involve them in project activities and seek their support wherever required.
4. Properly document field activities on prescribed formats and ensure that
necessary information is properly entered in database.
5. Convey field related problems/issues to district management wherever support is
required to address the issues.
6. Mobilize traditional and social media to build support for the project
7. Facilitate the project target group to effectively undertake their role as defined in
the project activities.
8. Regularly monitor the work assigned to target groups to ensure proper
implementation of the same and provide technical inputs and other support
wherever required.
9. Sharing feedback with Project Manager, Field Coordinator and M&E person in
periodic meetings.
10. Use participatory (interactive) approach in the community by inspiring them to
become active participants in the project activities.
11. Review and feedback provided in the staff meetings on process of different
departments and suggest changes and conditions.
12. Prepare and submit periodic field Reports to Field Coordinator/Project Manager
with the objective of transparent Project implementation.
13. Support Field Coordinator in developing formats for project activities.
14. Actively participate in the documentation of all workflows and underlying process
followed
15. Review monitoring reports received from monitoring focal persons and observe
the weak areas observed during field activities.

Professional Requirements:

1. At least 2 year of relevant experience in social mobilization
2. Keen learner, good analytical skills and willingness to work hard. LEAD Pakistan

4. Pro-active and self-disciplined.
5. Good report writing and presentation skills required.

This is to introduce the LRBT‘s free School Based Eye Care Services for School students. This programme is operating since last 15 years and is now an activity of public knowledge.

Till date we have screened around 0.30 million school children for eye diseases. Around 15% of these students were identified to have significant eye problems and were referred to our hospital. A large number of these referred students reported to our hospital and were either treated or operated for advance eye problems.

These school based activities goes a long way to contribute to a better eye health of school children and prevention of possible eye health problems in student population. The components of this programme are health education, screening of all students, on the spot treatment if possible and referral of those with advance eye care needs.  Referred students if present at our Korangi Hospital are entertained on priority basis.

We prefer to register schools willing to participate in this programe in advance.  This helps us to schedule our activities effectively.  The only thing the schools have to do is to arrange about an hour’s session of the willing teaching staff to be addressed by our community eye care staff. This will be followed training of minimum 2 teachers maximum 4 teachers in vision screening. Trained teachers will them screen all the students in school and report to our team about those who need to be examined by our refractionist / optometrist.  On an average our staff can manage to screen and educate about 100 to 150 students on each visit.  This task is greatly facilitated if the school concerned manages to attach one or two volunteer and motivated staff to help our team.

EOI - Enterprise Development training for CIGs

 Expression of Interest
Agriculture Based Enterprise Development Training. 
1. Background 
With the collaboration of Trocaire Pakistan, Indus Resource Centre has started a project for Promoting smallholder agriculture in 
Dadu by developing farming families' livelihood assets and building local leadership. The project focuses on promoting 
smallholder agriculture by developing farming families' livelihood assets and building local leadership. The project aims to replace 
subsistence farming with entrepreneurial farming through value addition, marketing, access to resources and building linkages with 
private and public actors. In addition to increased incomes through improved on-farm and off-farm livelihoods, the project will further 
seek to increase food availability and nutrition at household level from own food and value added production. Environmentally 
friendly technologies will be adopted and better preservation of village natural resources will be also promoted through active 
community involvement. The project will be focused on rights based approach for sustainability through information and advocacy on 
land and water rights. 
It will be implemented in six villages of the union councils of Mitho Babbar and Gozo in the taluka K.N.Shah. The project will focus 
to target small landowners, share-croppers and also landless farmers, women from these households and also youth through Common 
Interest Groups Approach –CIGs So that grassroots and poor farmers can be mobilized for the enterprenual farming. Through CIGs 
farmers will collectively enhance their skills and expertise for improving their income through on-farm and off -farm activities 
including production, post-harvest processing, value addition and marketing. 
2. Purpose of consultancy Training 
The training focused on enterprise skills, such as market analysis, distribution and business management, would support small-scale 
farmers in identifying the technologies that would benefit them most, and would help them to participate in agricultural innovation. 
Providing business skills to the rural poor allows them to improve the quality of their goods and gain higher prices in the market. This 
helps them move out of the low quality, low price sector where it is difficult for small enterprises to compete. Understanding the 
market, acquiring certified seeds and getting fair prices allowed smallholders to make significant gains in their productivity and 
income. 
 
Objective of the training: 
 The trainings aims to help farmer men and women smallholders to manage and market their farm production more 
effectively, to take advantage of new agricultural opportunities. 
 To undertake feasibility exercises for the viable and profitable (Existing or innovative) agri-business in the area. 
 Enterprise training will help farmers take – and manage – the risks involved in introducing progressive production 
technologies. 
 It will diversify their productive activities by branching out into non-farm enterprises, an important mechanism in reducing 
susceptibility to crisis and developing a more stable year-round income. 
 Successfully integrating enterprise development into the women's lives involved an array of integrated approaches 
 Starting up an enterprise, as the required capital and knowledge are shared within the group. 
 Marketing training is not separated from enterprise training to support quality control, capital management and price 
awareness; factors required to achieve a fair price. 
 Training would guide farmers to engage successfully with larger markets is particularly valuable to help farmers profit from 
new enterprises. 
 Direct linkages to markets farmers need to be empowered to interact with middlemen or market intermediaries on fair terms. 
 Ensuring that training has a financial management concept 
 
The training will involve following three steps: 
Step: 1 Focus Group Discussion for assessment of skills, expertise, motivation, activities and resources for proposed business ideas 
with the groups for initiating any enterprise. 
Step: 2 Conduct centre assessment for potentiality of the business proposed by CIGs and prepare the list of other profitable business in 
the area (with the group members) 
Step: 3 Train the CIGs groups for initiating or improving farm based enterprise (based on but not limited to following) 
 Basics of business, types, contract farming, value addition, group buying and selling concepts etc. 
 Learning to do feasibility of business 
 Develop business plans 
 Evaluating market 
 Clarity of value chain concept 
 Developing marketing strategy 
 Book keeping for enterprise

4. Principle of work 
The process will be guided by the following considerations:

• Appropriateness- the strategy, approach, methodology and enterprises must be appropriate to 
Sindh's rural context 
• Practical - the training must be practical and user friendly 
5. Consultant team 
The Consultant team with a good balance of agriculturists, enterprise development experts should have sound knowledge and 
experience in working on the livelihood and enterprise development training programs in rural areas of Sindh specially based on 
agriculture integrated enterprises. 
6. Deliverables and timeframe 
The consultant will perform the required duties within a period of up to one and half months (45 days) in between First week of 
January 2013 to the end of February 2014. 
The work must be carried out and completed within the given timeframe. 
The consultant team is responsible to the following deliverables:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Major responsibilities of the Social Mobilizer will be as follows:
 
Mobilize communities, and other stakeholders for cooperation in delivering the project components including Shelter, WASH, Health and Livelihoods;
Facilitate in formation of village committees and women groups for implementation of humanitarian and development activities in the project areas; 
Collect and compile baseline information on social, economic, environmental and ecological parameters of the   project area and prepare village profiles; 
Facilitate the field team in conducting field surveys, resource need assessments, participatory appraisals and monitoring and evaluation of initiatives in the project villages;  
Prepare in consultation with project team village development plans and other activity reports; 
Keep close coordination and liaison with field team, communities and partners and assist all in data collection from the field;
Organize and facilitate field visits of delegates from head office and other organizations to visit communities when requested;
Support the technical staff in organizing community meetings, workshops, seminars and campaigns;
Inform and take lead in resolving and managing community conflicts if and when happen in the project areas;  
Help build linkages of the village organizations and local institutions with partner organizations, donor agencies and development entities working in the district and beyond; 
Organize training programs and exposure visits to improve knowledge and skills of the communities, village organizations and partner organizations for common good; 
Document and share lessons learnt, and achievements from the field; and
Collect success stories from the field for newsletter publication.


REQUIREMENTS:

Graduate degree in social sciences, preferably in sociology, economics, agricultural economics, rural development, and anthropology; 
At least three years relevant work experience with a humanitarian and development organization, government or non-profit organization of high repute; 
Fluent in both Sindhi and Urdu
Computer literate (with hands on MS Office, Email and Internet); 
Strong inter-personal communication and presentation skills;

Presently, we are looking for a committed Female Front Desk Officer for IRC
Regional Office Khaipur. She will be responsible for successful running of
the Front Desk Responsibilities. She will be need to have an ear to the
ground and be aware of everything that's going in an organization, from
knowing which important meetings will be taking place to coordinating
deliveries and organizing travel arrangements for staff. You'll also often
be the first person that employees and potential clients see, so you're
always representing the company. 

Position Title: Front Desk Officer

Location: Regional Office Indus Resource Centre Khairpur

Front Desk Officer daily tasks will involve:

* Meeting and greeting clients 
* Booking meetings 
* Arranging couriers 
* Keeping the reception area tidy 
* Answering and forwarding phone calls 
* Screening phone calls 
* Sorting and distributing post
* Composing
