SPECIFICATIONS:
Position: Community Mobilizer- Female
Placement: Dadu
Nature: Contractual
Reporting line: Project Manager
Start Date: 2nd week of January, 2014
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Major responsibilities of the Social Mobilizer will be as follows:
Mobilize communities, and other stakeholders for cooperation in delivering the project components including Shelter, WASH, Health and Livelihoods;
Facilitate in formation of village committees and women groups for implementation of humanitarian and development activities in the project areas;
Collect and compile baseline information on social, economic, environmental and ecological parameters of the project area and prepare village profiles;
Facilitate the field team in conducting field surveys, resource need assessments, participatory appraisals and monitoring and evaluation of initiatives in the project villages;
Prepare in consultation with project team village development plans and other activity reports;
Keep close coordination and liaison with field team, communities and partners and assist all in data collection from the field;
Organize and facilitate field visits of delegates from head office and other organizations to visit communities when requested;
Support the technical staff in organizing community meetings, workshops, seminars and campaigns;
Inform and take lead in resolving and managing community conflicts if and when happen in the project areas;
Help build linkages of the village organizations and local institutions with partner organizations, donor agencies and development entities working in the district and beyond;
Organize training programs and exposure visits to improve knowledge and skills of the communities, village organizations and partner organizations for common good;
Document and share lessons learnt, and achievements from the field; and
Collect success stories from the field for newsletter publication.
REQUIREMENTS:
Graduate degree in social sciences, preferably in sociology, economics, agricultural economics, rural development, and anthropology;
At least three years relevant work experience with a humanitarian and development organization, government or non-profit organization of high repute;
Fluent in both Sindhi and Urdu
Computer literate (with hands on MS Office, Email and Internet);
Strong inter-personal communication and presentation skills;
